Kabocha squash and peanut rice medley

kabocha squash and peanut rice medley
I like kabocha pumpkin a lot. This is one of my favorite dish, and very easy to make.
If you have rice cooker, just put all ingredients in there, let them cook.
This style of rice dish, we call takikomi gohan. (cooking style is very similar to Paella food.)
Here is my recipe
ingredients(serves 3-4)
- A
- 2 dried shiitake mushroom
- 1 scallion minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger minced
- 2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 200ml (cc) shortgrain rice (wash tjem /drain in a colander)
- B
- 100 ml (cc) kabocha cut in half inch cube
- 50ml (cc) peanut
- 200 ml (cc) water
- a tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon five spice powder
- pinch of salt
- cilantro or scallion (minced)
recipe
- In the pan, add sesane oil, saute A with lower heat until it is aromatic.Add rice and saute and mix well
- Add B and cook with rice cooker.
If you do not have rice cooker, cook with pot. (make sure you cover lids)
bring them to a boil with medium heat and then lower heat until dry
*you can use other sweet pumpkin or Acon?Squash, sweet potato instead of Kabocha.
