Pea Sprouts Namul (Korean Style Pea Sprouts Salad)
Posted by Ariel | Filed under Korean, VEGETARIAN/ VEGAN
Pea sprout is season now. This green vegitable is one of my favorite vegitable.
In this season, you can buy in Chinatown easilly. If you are around New york, comment me. I will give you direction where exactly to get vegitable for you.
ingredients(Serves 2)
- 3 cups Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 lb Pea sprouts
- 1 each Scallions minced
- 1 clove Garlic minced
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds toasted
- Salt to taste
- Basic Steps: Blanch – Drain – Mix
- Bring the water and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Add the pea sprouts and boil for 2 minute. Remove from heat, cover tightly, and set aside for another 2 minutes.
- Drain the sprouts, rinse them with cold water, and squeeze out all extra water with your hands.
- Toss sprouts with the remaining ingredients and let set 30 minutes to let flavors mingle. Serve at room temperature
Preparation is easy (you should cool same day you bought!!) — all you need to do is rinse; but in the event you find yourself with longish stalks, make sure to pluck off and use only the leaves themselves.
Add sesami and red pepper if you like!!
