The Japanese Doll Festival ( Girls’ Day) is held on March 3. Platforms covered with a red carpet are used to display a set of ornamental dolls ( hina-ningy??) representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. Sushi Ball (temari sushi) is very simple way to make sushi at home and looks very pretty. As temari means thread balls in Japanese, temarizushi, or temari sushi, are small and ball-shaped sushi. Temari sushi are usually cooked on happy occasions. These are easy to eat sushi and good for parties.
I cooked tahini paste based spaghetti with root vegetables such as gobo (burdock root), renkon (lotus root), carrot. Look like Halloween color!! In Japan, I use black sesame paste for this dish, but this time, I added black sesami in tahini. Recipe is really simple.
This is also another cucumber dish. I like to cook cucumber dish in summer time because crunchiness of cucumber make me more appetite. This Cucumber jelly made with agar-agar as I name it, and looks so colorful.
